Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural response to stress, but when it becomes persistent and excessive, it can interfere with your ability to function and enjoy life. I believe in taking a compassionate and holistic approach to anxiety treatment, addressing both the emotional and practical aspects of your unique situation. Together, we will explore the underlying causes and triggers of your anxiety, develop effective coping strategies, and work towards creating a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Through evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices, we will work together to gain a deeper understanding of your anxiety and learn practical tools to manage it effectively. We will work collaboratively to challenge negative thought patterns, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and build resilience in the face of anxiety-provoking situations.

Teens

We work with teens age 13-18 who need a safe space to find their voice and express their feelings.

When a teen is struggling with mental health it can present as:

  • Anger

  • Sadness / crying

  • Excessive sleeping

  • Loss of appetite or over eating

  • Lashing out at caregivers

  • Loss of interest In friends or social events

Therapy can help teens develop emotional intelligence, communication skills, and confidence. My goal is to work with teens to find their voice and reach their healing goals.

Young Adults

Young adults have a lot of demands put on them as soon as they turn 18. They often hear things like:

“Time to get a job”

“Time to move out / start paying rent”

“Go to college and figure out your life”

“find a partner”

With these demands come feelings of anxiety, exhaustion, frustration, and confusion. That’s where therapy comes in! I work with young adults to provide a safe and understanding environment where you can work on:

  • Understanding your trauma
  • Manage anxiety
  • Learn to set boundaries
  • Understand healthy vs unhealthy relationships
  • Explore career / education options.

Parenting

Are you a parent who is alone or feels alone in a relationship? Are you a parent who feels no one listens to you? Are you a parent who feels they have no one to talk to or vent to? Do you feel guilt when you want to do something for yourself? If any of this sounds like you I am here to help. If you have parenting needs that are not mentioned give me a call to discuss your needs and how I can help.

Parent education reduces the risk of child abuse and neglect by encouraging positive parenting practices that promote safety and wellbeing for the whole family. Parental therapy gives the parent time for themselves and to themselves to talk to someone about their frustrations or needs.

Relationships

What is a relationship? It is a connection between individuals by blood, love, mutual interest, or general likes. It can be friends, family, romantic partners, coworkers, or neighbors.

Have you experienced difficulties with any relationships in your life? Do you often have trouble setting boundaries with others because you think “what if they get mad?” or “what if they stop talking to me?”. Do you often say yes when you want to say no? Have you ever learned how to date or truly get to know someone?

I work with clients to help them understand healthy vs. unhealthy relationships. We can explore what it means to get to know someone, how to set boundaries,  and how to reduce anxiety when saying No.
